About Me

I am the Head of User Services Librarian and Associate Professor at Azusa Pacific University (APU). I hold a B.A. in Graphic Design, a M.A in Educational Multimedia and a M.S. in Library and Information Studies. My expertise is dedicated to the user experience, operations, design, leadership and management, and student engagement. I have extensive experience teaching courses in design and library science. My experience in academic and public libraries as well as professional experience in art and design fields allow me to employ visionary strategies to enrich progress and enhance advancement and engagement for library users.

I frequently present on leadership and management in libraries on topics of quiet leadership, reluctant leadership, emotional intelligence, empathy, and related themes. I have presented as a keynote speaker and several webinars for various organizations including Library Works and ALA. Please inquire if you are interested in having me speak online or in-person.

Speaking Requests

I am available to speak at your in-person event or conference, webinar, or online event.

Fees vary according to type, in-person vs. online, length, etc.

The following fees apply:

In-Person or Online Events:

Speaking fees vary by length and location, but generally cover the following:

  • Speaking fees/honorarium/stipend

  • Travel expenses including but not limited to:

    • Airfare, train, and/or other forms of transportation.

    • Hotel accommodations

    • Car rental

    • Meals

    • Any other related travel expenses

Online or Virtual Events/Zoom/Webinar:

  • Speaking fees/honorarium/stipend by length of time.

  • Online/webinar fees generally are based on a flat fee or percentage based on number of attendees.

  • Example: Academic/non-profit: $300-500 for 45 minutes, plus Q&A.

  • Minimum 45 minutes

  • One hour

  • One hour and a half

  • Plus Q&A

45 minutes, one hour, and one hour and a half are standard blocks of time and includes Q&A following the presentation.

Academic/Non-Profit vs. General Requests:

  • Academic/non-profit covers all travel accommodations. Speaking fees/honorarium/stipend are generally a discounted rate.

  • General requests cover all travel accommodations with speaking fees at a regular rate.
